Google Chrome Zero-Day CVE-2026-11645: Fifth 2026 Exploit

Google has released an emergency security update for Chrome to fix CVE-2026-11645, a high-severity zero-day vulnerability in the V8 JavaScript engine that is already being exploited in the wild. Consequently, this marks the fifth actively exploited Chrome zero-day patched since the start of 2026, underscoring an accelerating threat against the world’s most popular browser.

What Happened: Google Patches Fifth Chrome Zero-Day of 2026

On Monday, June 8, 2026, Google published a stable channel security advisory acknowledging active exploitation of CVE-2026-11645. Furthermore, the company released patched builds for Windows, macOS, and Linux within hours of the disclosure.

The flaw is an out-of-bounds read and write vulnerability inside the Chrome V8 engine. Moreover, remote attackers can exploit it via a crafted HTML page to achieve arbitrary code execution within the browser sandbox. Successful exploitation also enables heap corruption, which can bypass ASLR protections and make further exploitation easier.
