Ubiquiti Patches Three Maximum Severity UniFi OS Vulnerabilities
Ubiquiti has released urgent security updates for three maximum severity UniFi OS vulnerabilities that allow remote attackers to compromise systems without authentication. These flaws affect the core operating system powering UniFi Consoles worldwide. Censys data shows nearly 100,000 internet-exposed endpoints are potentially at risk, with roughly half located in the United States.
What Happened: Ubiquiti Discloses Five UniFi OS Security Flaws
On May 21, 2026, Ubiquiti published Security Advisory Bulletin 064 to address five security issues in UniFi OS. Three of these flaws carry maximum severity ratings and can be chained by remote, unprivileged attackers.
The company disclosed the vulnerabilities through its HackerOne bug bounty program. At this time, Ubiquiti has not confirmed active exploitation in the wild. However, the low attack complexity and massive internet exposure create a dangerous window of opportunity for threat actors.
Moreover, this is not the first time Ubiquiti products have drawn attacker attention. State-backed actors and cybercriminals have previously hijacked UniFi and Edge OS devices to build proxy botnets for espionage campaigns.
Technical Details of the UniFi OS Vulnerabilities
The three maximum severity flaws affect UniFi OS, the unified operating system that manages networking, security cameras, access control, and other IT infrastructure services through UniFi Consoles.
CVE-2026-34908: Improper Access Control
This flaw allows a malicious actor with network access to make unauthorized changes to the system. It stems from an Improper Access Control weakness (CWE-284). An attacker could alter device configuration or security policies without proper authentication.
CVE-2026-34909: Path Traversal
This vulnerability enables an attacker to access files on the underlying system by exploiting a Path Traversal weakness (CWE-22). Successful exploitation could be manipulated to access an underlying account or extract sensitive data from the console.
CVE-2026-34910: Command Injection
This issue allows command injection through an Improper Input Validation weakness (CWE-20). A malicious actor with network access can execute arbitrary commands on the device, potentially leading to full system compromise.
Additional Critical and High-Severity Flaws
Ubiquiti also patched two additional vulnerabilities:
- CVE-2026-33000: A critical command injection flaw affecting UniFi OS devices.
- CVE-2026-34911: A high-severity information disclosure vulnerability that could expose sensitive device data.
All five flaws can be exploited in low-complexity attacks. They do not require user interaction or elevated privileges, which significantly lowers the barrier for remote exploitation.

- Restrict remote access. Place UniFi Consoles behind a VPN or firewall. Avoid direct internet exposure unless absolutely necessary.
- Enable automatic updates. Configure UniFi OS to receive security patches automatically to reduce future patching delays.
- Review access logs. Inspect UniFi OS logs for unusual configuration changes, unauthorized logins, or unexpected network traffic.
- Segment critical networks. Isolate UniFi management interfaces from general user networks and guest Wi-Fi zones.
